CAPSAICIN USP (CAS No: 404- 80- 4)
The pungent component of red chilli is capsaicin (C18 H27 NO3) - off white powder.
This substance is the major component in many medical formulations used to treat ailments causing severe pain. It is also used in self protection aids such as Pepper Sprays to temporarily immobilise the attacker without causing physical damage or injury.
